Yesterday I let Cameron have her time on the computer. I came back upstairs to find a screwdriver lying in front of the screen and five or so small round chips out of the middle of my monitor. I asked her what she did and she told me she was tired of the computer loading and she tried to hit it out. I didn't even know what to say. One thing is for sure, I never thought I'd have to have the conversation that went something like, "Kids, we never ever ever use a screwdriver on the computer." Really. But, the longer I'm experiencing the joys of motherhood, the more random and crazy conversations I find myself having. Just this week I have not only discussed the pros and cons of using a screwdriver on the computer, we've talked about where Snow White lives and why we can't look up her phone number in the phone book. We've discussed why it is important not to run naked through the front yard while waving our bottoms around in the air and I've actually asked why there is a tuna sandwich...under the dog. Not kidding. And, I consider this to be a slow and rather calm week.
I am so trying to get back into the blogging scene. I am trying hard to remember to not only take pictures, but post them, but alas, not only have I been pregnant crummy, I managed to catch this nasty flu that's been circulating. Needless to say, another unproductive week for me. Lots of tv, and lots of reading, but not a whole lot of anything else. We had a few sunny days and now it's back to wind and rain. My one goal for yesterday was to disinfect. Everything. I hate the flu. It just makes the whole house feel gross. So now that the flu is behind us (please Lord, let the flu be behind us) Tucker is coughing, Cameron is snotting, and Matt and I are both feeling yucky and sore throats. Figures, we're so close to warm weather, and yet, we have to all make another round of visits to the doctor for drugs.
On a lighter note, I am working on my newest swap of birthday cards and should have those finished today or tomorrow so I may actually have something to post that is craft related. Here's hoping.

Sunday Book Review--10
I found a new website today. Had to share.
1000 Awesome Things I love randomness such as this, and it really makes you stop and appreciate the little things in life.
Also, since I'm suggesting websites, you might want to check out
Post Secret for some dark and dreary things that people live with on a daily basis. Will make your heart cry for some and laugh at some and realize just how great your life is going.
Then there's Texts from Last Night, which I find humorous, but I will warn you, it's not appropriate for all viewers and some may take offense to the vulgarness that is involved with college-aged "kids". Still, if I can black out all of the vulgarnes, makes me smile to remember back in the day of drinking Arbor Mist and acting like a complete idiot. Good times.
And now for my Sunday Book Review....
No Angel by Penny Vincenzi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I picked this book from my Mother-In-Law's shelf, out of sheer avoidance of my New Year's resolution to read five classics. I had started Pride and Predjudice and I am so tired from being pregnant that I can't focus and instantly fall asleep. This book, however, kept me not only awake, but awake way past my usual bedtime and on into the night. I love books like these. I think these are the closest thing to a love affair that I could imagine. I would literally wait all day to sneak into bed just to read for hours. I couldn't put it down, couldn't get anything accomplished until it was finished, and when it was, I went straight for the next book in the trilogy. This is half the reason why I haven't been able to focus on my blog. These books are wonderful.
This book takes place in England during the World War I time period. It starts by introducing Celia, the first of many strong and independent women in the book. It follows her through her life as a mother, wife, book publisher, socialite, and secret lover. She is a very complex woman that I want to hate, but I love her for her guts. I love this era and I am always intrigued by anything England, so this was the perfect book for me.

Sunday Book Review--9 (and even on time)
Writing Motherhood by Lisa Garrigues
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I picked this book up because Ali Edwards (www.aliedwards.com) recommended it to help you become a better scrapbook journaler and to "tell your story" as a mother.
I liked the fact that this author didn't assume that simply because I was reading this book, I was going to attempt to become a professional and published author. She simply wants you to record your story. Your story as a mother. Your story of the good and bad with children. Your story of before you were a mother and how you got to the point you are at in your life.
This book includes great writing prompts and ideas on how to use them in your "Mother's Journal". It also provides examples of writing from other mothers. It's nice to know that I'm not the only Mom feeling these ways.
Now that I have read this book, I hope to become inspired to use some of the prompts for my blog, which I use as my "Mommy Journal".

Quick stories I had to Share
We have been talking about pregnancies alot in the Brown household. Cameron keeps asking about the baby in my tummy. Can it hear her? What does it like to eat? Is it crying? Did she like it in my tummy? Did Tucker like it in my tummy? and so on. My Grandma's cat is pregnant. We keep talking about the kittens that are due to come out any day. I thought she had a pretty good grasp on things until she asked if our dog, Sammy would have puppies soon. I told her no, because she couldn't have puppies. Of course she asked why so I told her we took her to the doctor and made her so she couldn't ever have them. She got upset and told me she loved puppies and wanted one. I told her maybe someday we could get a new puppy but it wouldn't be from Sammy. End of discussion. This morning, on the way to preschool, she asked me again, "Mommy, did I cry when I was in your belly?" "Mommy, did Tucker cry when he was in your belly." And finally, "Mommy, did SAMMY cry when she was in your belly?" Remember Sammy is the dog. Funny how you think they understand and they really don't have any clue as to how everybody in the family came to be. I never thought I would have to say, "No, Mommies don't have puppies, they just have human babies." Dear Lord......
Today Cameron and the neighbor girl were hula hooping in the front yard. Cameron told her she had received her hula hoop as an Easter gift from Grandma and Papa. The neighbor girl asked how many Grandpas she had. Cameron told her only one Papa and one Grandpa, which would be Matt's and My Dads, respectively. Then she asked her how many Grandma's she had and Cameron told her she had a LOT of Grandma's. The neighbor girl said, "then you should have a lot of Grandpa's too". Cameron answered by saying, well some of my Grandmas just didn't need a Grandpa to live with. Never mind that they all had one at one time, to Cameron, they never existed because they just didn't need them. I like her thought process.

Sunday Book Review--8 (two days late)
Miss Fannie's Hat by Jan Karon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I found this one a long time ago. I used to work at a Waldenbooks in college and I was in charge of the children's section, so I got to know all sorts of children's books. Unfortunately, I didn't have kids and I wasn't a teacher...yet. So I would simply stockpile books for future occassions of having children or teaching school. This was one that I couldn't resist.
I chose to add this to my reviews because of the Easter theme towards the end of the book. Miss Fannie is a 99 year old woman. She loves hats and wears one to church every Sunday. She is well known for these hats and each hat tells a story or brings back a memory.
Close to Easter, the Pastor asks Miss Fannie to donate one of her hats to the church auction, in order to raise money for maintenance and flowers. She has a huge dilema over which hat is her favorite. My daughter loves looking at the pages of hats and trying to decide which hat would be her favorite and which she would donate.
This is an excellent story.
