When All Else Fails, Lower Your Expectations

Earlier this year, I stumbled across an absolutely amazing website titled Bakerella. This woman is incredible! She is a gourmet baker who has done a lot with Cake Pops. In fact, she has created a book of her different cake pops and I am obsessed with them. So for Easter this year, we made cake balls and put them on the sticks and then I copied the easiest Easter idea I could find, which was the yellow chick cake pop. And it would have been great, but I have helpers in this house....

Anybody have a helper as cute as this?

And so what would have been cute and round and smooth and non stoned looking chicks turned out to be a little bit drippy, and a lot of stoned looking chickens. And most all of the pops didn't even make it to the chick making stage, as they were just coated in Easter Sprinkles. And it was not what I expected, but the kiddos loved them, and they have been passing them out to all of their friends and teachers. So I have to just roll with it, and know that some day, probably sooner than I realize, my house will be quiet and I will have all the time in the world for cute and perfect Easter chicks. But today, we made stoned Easter chicks and they were perfect.
